NORTH KINGSVILLE - Helen W. McCollister, 69, of Shady Lane, North Kingsville,
died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut.
Mrs. McCollister was born July 25, 1933, in Tinney, a daughter of John and
Lillian (Champenoise) Hopkins.
She was an area resident for 37 years and was of the Lutheran faith. She was a
member of the Women of the Moose in Conneaut and enjoyed camping, watching
television, genealogy and bird-watching.
Survivors include her husband, Sam McCollister, whom she married July 11, 1953;
four daughters, Debora Woodard of Kinsman, Rebecca Robison of Conneaut, Amanda
Tredway of New London, N.C., and Candace Rodgers of Ashtabula; a son, Jason
McCollister of Mount Home, Idaho; five sisters, Jane Eversole of Eastlake,
Isabelle Cheek of Chiloquin, Ore., Annabelle Knott of Toledo, Rosey Knott of
Woodville, and Myrtle Williams of Fremont; seven grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Chelsea Rodgers,
in infancy.
A private graveside service will be held.
No calling hours will be observed, but a gathering for family and friends is
scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday at the McCollister home, 4434 Shady Lane, North
Kingsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Kingsville Rescue Squad.
Envelopes will be available at the McCollister home or at the Marcy Funeral Home
and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which is handling the
arrangements.
